PHAN FA BRIDGE, MARCH 24, 2010: Good morning everybody from the United Front for Democracy Against Dictatorships (UDDs) continuing rally for democracy for Thailand at Phan Fa Bridge in Bangkok.
The leadership of the UDD “red-shirts” rally at Phan Fa Bridge would like to thank everyone who made a special effort and responded to their request yesterday via Twitter, SMS and other mass communications channels to attend the rally site when it appeared that the Thai military was planning to move against the protesters.
Though there was no such action the response from red-shirt supporters in Bangkok was overwhelming with an estimated 40-50,000 people gathering at the rally site to oppose any such move.
A big thank you to the supporters of democracy.
Shortly we will be posting an interview we conducted last night with former deputy prime minister Chaturon Chaisang, who addressed red-shirt protesters from the main stage last night. Please check the Pages in this blog section in the right-side menu bar.
